Aditya Parameswaran

Aditya Parameswaran (Twitter, webpage) is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. He spent a year as a postdoctoral scholar at MIT following his Ph.D. from Stanford, before starting at Illinois in 2014. Aditya develops algorithms and systems for the nascent discipline of "human-in-the-loop" data analytics, synthesizing techniques from data management, data mining, and user interaction.

Aditya has received a number of awards for his work, including the IEEE TCDE Early Career Award for "developing tools that expand the reach of data analytics", multiple "best" dissertation awards (from SIGMOD, SIGKDD, and Stanford) for his dissertation on crowdsourcing, and the NSF CAREER award. Aditya has published extensively, with more than 60 papers in top-tier venues and five "best-of-conference" citations. Aditya co-authored the definitive book on large-scale crowdsourcing, titled "Crowdsourced Data Management: Industry and Academic Perspectives" in 2016, co-chaired the Human-in-the-Loop Data Analytics (HILDA) workshop at the 2017 SIGMOD conference, and currently serves as an associate editor for the SIGMOD Record journal.
