Solar-Charged Exchangeable Batteries
Up to now, batteries for electricity storage have been the weak point of the whole renewable generation proposition. There is now a reliable battery storage technology that allows energy to be locally generated at all hours of day and night by sun and wind, and stored conveniently. There is no longer any need to put 40 kWh of advanced lithium batteries in a car, another 6 to 9 kWh in a house smart grid inverter, another 2 kWh in a scooter, 0.5 kWh in an electric bike and 0.25 kWh in diverse small portable tools from vacuum cleaners to drills to lawnmowers. The world could run out of lithium before this demand is satisfied, although replacement battery chemistries are coming on stream fast. ...
