XSL style sheets are used to transform XML document content and format it for display on Web browsers. Although the full specification for XSL is still in the works as of this writing, the XSL Transformation (XSLT) component is nearing recommendation status with the W3C. Microsoft has taken the liberty of supporting an early version of XSLT in Internet Explorer 5.0, which gives Web developers a great opportunity to tinker with XSLT and begin creating XSL style sheets.
