21.1. XML Applications
The uses to which XML schemas can be applied within an application are too numerous to list. When discussing application-oriented schemas, we are addressing a specific subset of the potential applications that use XML schemas. Specifically, we are focusing on applications that utilize XML as their mechanism for data transfer. These applications define one or more simple and complex types in an XML schema. These simple and complex types are mapped to application types and application arguments that are manipulated by the business logic.
