We think of elements as objects and of element types as classes that have these objects as instances. Similarly, attribute types are classes that have attributes as instances. We also consider the structure types of attribute and element types to be classes. Unlike element and attribute types, they do not require their instances to have any particular type name. Thus, structure types may have instances that are instances of many different attribute or element types.
