Making and Using XML: The Data Managers’ Perspective

Introduction

Two trends are occurring in the XML and data management technologies that make it difficult to accurately sum up. First of all, because of the XML hype, practically all vendors are relabeling their offerings to make it seem as if they take advantage of XML. Some do; others have not gotten it quite right. The second complicating factor is that the use of XML technologies is still relatively immature.
