Jay Paul Deratany received his law degree from DePaul University and his MFA in Writing for the Performing Arts from the UCR-Palm Desert. He is the founder of The Deratany Firm in Chicago. In 2016, he was selected as one of the Top 100 Illinois Litigation lawyers by the American Society of Legal Advocates (ASLA).
Deratany’s courtroom successes include winning the largest jury verdict in Lake County history ($23,000,000). He has served on boards such as Howard Brown, Chicago House, Perspectives Charter Schools, and Community Support Services.
