Peruvian director Claudia Llosa, described by Variety as one of Latin America’s fastest-rising femme helmer-scribes, has written and directed three features, including Madeinusa (2006) and Milk of Sorrow (2010), which was nominated for an Oscar. Her most recent film, Aloft (2014), is her English-language debut, starring Jennifer Connelly and Cillian Murphy.
