When I wrote the second edition of this book, I started with the words, “It’s official. Television has entered a new Golden Age. A revolution, so to speak. And with it comes the promise of innovative change and unimaginable opportunity.” That turned out to be the understatement of the decade. In six short years, it feels like everything has changed. Favorite shows have come and gone, while new hit series have sprung to life. Technology has been a driving force. We now regularly watch TV on computers, tablets, and smart phones.
