PLASTERING THE TOWN WITH YOUR WORK
Once you have at least two solid specs under your belt, your next order of business will be to get an agent (see Chapter 26). A good agent will contact various producers and executives and pitch you as a hot new writer who is about to take off. The agent’s goal is to get your work read quickly by people who have the power to hire you. Getting read is the first step to being produced.
Keep in mind that your agent is one person with many clients. Therefore, it would be a good idea for you also to go through your own list of industry contacts and make phone calls in an attempt to get your work read. Dig deep and contact everyone you know. Call former bosses you once ...
