Every organization has both a workplace culture and a plan. The workplace culture exists whether it has been crafted intentionally or just allowed to grow organically. Intentional cultures, as we have seen at Disney, Apple, Zappos, the U.S. Marines, and major religious institutions, are built around a shared set of beliefs, a universal set of standards, and a vision of the optimum outcome or dreamed-of status. An organic culture would not create a harmonious result. Instead, it would produce chaos.
