“Acoustics is a study, but there’s a wide range of how you use that knowledge,” says acoustician Samantha Weller. “There are acoustic scientists in the military; at Virginia Tech there were studies in acoustics for Boeing airplanes and jet propulsion; then there’s underwater acoustics.
