Synopsis

The following settings and tasks relate to using folders and folder windows. See also “Hard Disk” and “Windows Explorer”. A quick way to get to Control Panel → Folder Options is to select Folder Options from the Tools menu in any open folder window.

Folders, cache settings for offline access

Explorer → right-click folder icon → Sharing → Caching

Folders, close automatically when Favorites or History folder is shown

Control Panel → Internet Options → Advanced tag → Browsing → Close unused folders in History and Favorites

Folders, columns in details view

Folder window → View → Details → View → Choose Details

Folders, display file size in folder tips
