Meet the Standard Home Entertainment Components You Need to Know

There’s a piece of equipment designed to read each of the audio and video formats discussed earlier, although you might have to get a little creative to find this equipment if you have or will put together your home entertainment system using a variety of manufacturers. In the next sections, we’ll take a look at how different home entertainment components work with various AV formats.

Before we begin, it’s important to note that the items listed here are not covered in this chapter. Why? Well, you won’t need them with Media Center. You can buy them if you want, but personally, we would spend the money on new games or movies for our home entertainment center!
