The Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) isn't installed by default, so the first step toward getting up and running with it will be to install it along with a Linux distribution (distro) of your choice. By the end of this chapter, you will know how to install WSL and how to install Linux distros to use with it. You will also see how to inspect and control Linux distros as well as how to configure additional properties in WSL.
