This chapter described a variety of options a user has available when creating a new collaboration or meeting workspace site by using out-of-the-box templates that ship with WSS 3.0.
I also discussed how an organization can and should create custom templates tailored specifically to their organization, not only to promote governance and standardization, but also to capture information management policies and metadata. Templates and master pages can make a huge difference in the success and supportability of most any SharePoint implementation.
