A Remote Desktop Gateway (RDG) server, part of the RDS role, is a role service in Windows Server 2016 that enables authorized users to connect to computers within an organization's network and over the internet using a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client. To set up an RDG server in your organization's network with Windows Server 2016, you first add the Remote Desktop Services role and then add Remote Desktop Gateway role services as in Figure 5.17:
