Chapter 8. Auditing

In computer security, the word audit is commonly used as a verb meaning to compare something against a standard or baseline ("to audit the effectiveness of the organization's security controls") and as a noun meaning a log of security-relevant event records ("audit trails") or a verb meaning to generate an audit trail. In this chapter we use audit in the log-related sense.
