Managing System Services
Services provide key functions to workstations and servers. To manage system services, you’ll use the Services entry in Server Manager. You can start Server Manager and access the Services entry by following these steps:
Choose Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Server Manager. Or select Server Manager from the Quick Launch toolbar.
In Server Manager, click the plus sign (+) next to the Configuration node. This expands the node to display its tools.
Select the Services node. As shown in Figure 4-7, you should now see a complete list of services installed on the system. By default, this list is organized by service name. The key fields of this dialog box are used as follows:
