Chapter 15. Developing a Network Security Strategy

The security of Active Directory is critical to the success of any organization in which Windows 2000 is deployed. Consequently, the management of security, with regards to access to the Windows 2000 environment as well as access to information in Active Directory, can define the success or failure of a Windows 2000 deployment.

Essentially, two security environments are relative to Active Directory. The first governs how users and resources gain access to the network, the Windows 2000 environment, and to the information in Active Directory.
