In many ways, this century resembles Wi-Fi. Every few years, new developments fundamentally change the way we work and communicate. Each time we look back a few years, we realize that today we have more information to absorb and more new technologies at our disposal. What was once concluded to be impossible is now experimented with or achieved sooner and faster than we thought. The development of Wi-Fi seems to follow the same trends. Six years separated Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) from Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), but then 802.11ac Wave 2, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Wi-Fi 6E, and now Wi-Fi 7 followed each other at intervals of just a few years.
