6.1. Events
We have seen the value of deploying ecosystems in assisting clients and services to foster dynamic relationships in an effective and predictable manner. As the expectations from these ecosystems increase in complexity, relationships that services need to form also need to increase in complexity — at both a business and a programmatic level. Services not only process data from various sources (system information in Chapter 4) but can and will act as trigger or decision points in the workflow. Therefore, services need the ability to trigger subsequent tasks or alter runtime processing.
