Part III. Digital Certificates
This part of the book explains what digital signatures and certificates are and how they can be used to establish identity and assure the authenticity of information that is delivered over the Web. Although digital certificates rely on public key cryptography (described in Part IV), you do not need to understand how cryptography works in order to make use of digital certificate technology. This part also discusses code signing.
