Chapter 7. SNMP Management
This chapter deals with the management of the VRRP using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the most commonly used protocol for network management tasks within the Internet. As the network management section of Appendix A explains, SNMP is based on different Management Information Base (MIB) modules for specific purposes. The MIB for VRRP is specified in RFC 2787 (Jewell [2000]) under the title Definitions of Managed Objects for the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol. At the time of writing, this RFC is in the Standards Track status.
