The previous chapters described public switched telephone network (PSTN) and various Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies in isolation from one another. In real-world carrier networks, VoIP and PSTN technologies coexist and will continue to do so for some years to come. This chapter describes alternatives for interworking between VoIP and PSTN.
