CHAPTER 7Creating and Modifying Virtual Machines
This chapter covers how to create a virtual machine (VM) for the first time. Once you have created your first VM, you can duplicate it to quickly create other VMs, as described in the next chapter.
We will first look at the virtual hardware available within a VM. Then we will examine what it is like to set up Windows and Linux within a VM, and how to install VMware Tools to your guest operating system. I will also address how to add hardware to the virtual machine, and show how it is possible to enable direct access to a SAN or iSCSI system within a VM.
