Chapter 8. Org Chart
In high school, I was in a marching band of 200 students, divided into 11 sections, each with a section leader. There were three drum majors who each oversaw the organization of three or four sections of band, and our director was ultimately responsible for the whole band.
We practiced four days a week to learn and perfect our performance. Once a week, the drum majors gave the section leaders music and marching skills to work on with the people in their individual sections. After a few hours of sectional practices, the band would get back together and practice again as a full unit.
