This book has presented a fable about Virtual Vic, who learned lessons from his informal board of directors (BOD), Reliable Reggie, Solitary Samantha, and Being Bob. This book did not get into a lot of theory and research related to either the virtual work environment (VWE) or the three human perceptions of trust, isolation, and presence. There are many books that can get into great detail on these topics. My book The Human Side of Virtual Work: Managing Trust, Isolation, and Presence goes into greater detail on these topics.
