13.1 INTRODUCTION

Microcomputer is a computer that is available on small scale and it depends on a microprocessor. Typically, a microcomputer consists of a central processing unit, memory, and an input–output subsystem with buses for data transfer.

13.1.1 Basic Components of a Microcomputer

In its simplest form, a microcomputer architecture is as shown in Figure 13.1.
