Final Remarks

Both Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Value Engineering (VE) have unique attributes and perspectives for process improvement. Since certain problems can be more readily, effectively, or thoroughly managed by using one or both of these perspectives, exploring the full range of solution options is crucial. In some circumstances, VE techniques are better equipped to lead to improvements or solutions that complement those identified through a DMAIC/DFSS (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control/Design for Six Sigma) approach.
