Rendering PDF Content as an Image
The Windows Runtime includes APIs for loading PDF content and rendering any of its pages as an image. For now, you can only extract the final, flattened image. So although you could implement a magazine-style app on top of this support, you would be not be able to make the app accessible or provide any meaningful level of interaction other than panning and zooming. There is no way to extract the text, links, or anything else inside PDF documents, and there is no mechanism for editing the content.
