This chapter is about the experience of virtual reality. We take a look at the elements that make a successful experience, including mental immersion, physical immersion, and the effect of the presentation venue on the experience. Then we examine the actual components of the world that are available to help shape the experience: What point of view is chosen? Is the user seeing the world as a bug in the grass? A bat in the sky?
