The grammar and small cultures
The grammar of culture has been a developing idea over a number of years. It began with my configuration of small cultures (Holliday 1999, 2011b), and later developed into the grammar in my (2011a) book, Intercultural Communication & Ideology, where much of the theoretical underpinning for this book was developed. A major aim for this book is to take the grammar as developed there and provide a detailed breakdown of how it helps us to understand the working nature of intercultural communication.
