Grid Development and Voltage Upgrade
Chapter 1 summarizes the history and status quo of grid development, analyzes the development motivation and R&D process of ultrahigh voltage (UHV) power transmission, puts forward the concept and technical characteristics of UHV AC/DC hybrid power grids, as well as the principles and methods of UHV class selection, determines the AC voltage standards of 1000-kV nominal voltage and 1100-kV maximum operating voltage as well as ±800-kV and ±1000-kV DC voltage sequences, and lays the foundation for the development of UHV power grid.
