Glossary
This section attempts to provide definitions for many of the specialist terms used throughout this book. The definitions given are in the context of Trusted Platforms, and the terms may have different definitions elsewhere. Words in italic have their own (or related) definitions in the glossary. Terms that are particular to TCPA are followed by the letters TCPA in square brackets, viz. “tcpa-specialist-term [TCPA]”.
- 3DES
(pronounced “triple-DES”) A symmetric-key-based block cipher, which involves two DES encryption processes and one DES decryption process, producing a cipher much stronger than DES.
