Strategy Redux
“Deploy forces to defend the strategic points; exercise vigilance in preparation, do not be indolent,” wrote Sun Tzu in The Art of War. “Deeply investigate the true situation, secretly await their laxity. Wait until they leave their strongholds, then seize what they love.”1 There is something reassuringly brutal about old-school strategy. It brooked no intervention. It was black and white, conquer or be conquered.
