28. Should I Use Lists?
Lists can often give bloggers a chance to create quick content that interests users and gives immediate satisfaction. Because attention spans are greatly reduced by the influx of technologies like Twitter, lists are easily digestible and can almost have as much impact as a full article.
It is always a good move to use bullet points in a blog post when you can. It is also always a good move to put the key points and takeaways of your post into bullet points so that your readers can pick up on the substance of your post, even if they decide not to read the entire post.
Bullet points can also “lighten” up a post by giving it a feeling of more space, keeping you more concise in your writing, and giving the reader's eyes a break.
Bulleted lists are also helpful for in-person presentations. Their brevity allows you to highlight the main points on your visual aids while verbally supporting the points in your spoken content.
