Air Pollution Control

Air pollution occurs when chemicals, fumes, particulate matter, odor, or biological materials introduced into the air exceed safe limits. Air pollutants can be in the form of solid particles, liquid droplets, or gases. They are dispersed throughout the world’s atmosphere. Air pollutants released from fossil fuel power plants are particulate matter, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides. Suspended particulate matter in a gas stream may be separated by either an ESP or a bag filter. Carbon dioxide is one of the greenhouse gases.
