5  Strategic Interactions

How do the relational transactions of followers manifest to yield outcomes for constituents in the relational interface? The interactions involving followers and leaders are strategic to the extent that they involve restorative and transcendent transactions that generate value for constituents in the relational interface. They are shaped by strategic cognition and strategic affect. Theories that relate to strategic interactions, strategic cognition, and strategic affect are discussed. They can be used to understand the two paths—mediated and direct—of strategic followership.
