In psychology, the narrative technique is used to understand the experiences and meanings of our own and other people’s behavior. The stories people tell provide information about personal experiences in relation to their identities and social life (Stephens & Breheny, 2013). Narrative is a preferred medium for expressing personal and social stories (Stapleton & Wilson, 2017). When a person tells a story, it becomes a proprietary narration. The story is what is told. The narrative is the viewpoint used to tell the story with the intention to be believed (Ates, 2018; Stephens & Breheny, 2013).
