THE SUMMARY REFLECTION
Reflect Back and Look Ahead
When the target condition or the achieve-by date is reached, it’s a good idea for the learner and coach to do a summary reflection together, to review plusses and minuses from the four-step Improvement Kata process that was just completed. This can be a review of the learner’s Improvement Kata practice as well as the coach’s Coaching Kata practice. Both the learner and the coach can come away from a summary reflection with things they would like to emphasize, try, or do differently in their next pass through the four steps of the Improvement Kata.
