In the recording studio, equalisers come in many different forms, but in smallish live-sound setups the choice is usually limited to the equaliser you have on your desk channels, and maybe a graphic equaliser on the main outputs. Graphic equalisers are very commonly used in live sound as they are easy to set up and can apply a more extensive degree of equalisation than the usual desk EQ.
