2 The curious thing is that I have some evidence of what I anticipated. I spent some time in the summer of 1996 at a management course at IMD in Switzerland. As part of the course, we were asked to write ourselves a letter expressing our boldest hopes about the change that we were considering in our organization. The letter was to be posted back to us in three months’ time, to remind us what we had envisaged.
