Introduction

Story-telling is essentially intertwined with ethics. As MacIntyre (1984, 121) notes, the telling of stories has been the “chief means of moral education” in classical societies. We are all familiar with the use of biblical stories in religious education and of parables in classical education and understand the role of genesis myths and stories in explaining, preserving, and maintaining the culture of native societies. Stories serve a similar role in our organizations, professions, and society, although we may be less aware of it.
