Summary

Humility has negative connotations for some and is not immediately appreciated by all. Professional investors as well as the press need a second glance to treasure the virtue. However, employees as well as managers are yearning for it – seeing it as a prerequisite for dealing with today’s upheavals, crises and opportunities.

In my more than 30 years of experience, I have not often encountered managers who possess the characteristic of humility. Humility is actually the opposite of what we tend to see: Managers become managers precisely because they are not humble.
