“Wow, I never dreamed I would get a check this big!” Tom Mahanan said, as he continued looking at his check and couldn’t believe that he was holding his “royalty check” for $400,000! When Tom received his new role with the Board of Directors, he had done so without a major raise in his salary, but rather an agreement on a royalty check based upon profits.
