THE MOST NEGLECTED portion of any presentation is typically the preparation, for two reasons: (1) preparation takes time—and busy people often prefer to risk “winging it” than to spend time on something that may not reward them, and (2) they don’t have the slightest idea how to put the thing together in the first place—other than by resorting to some bad habits that, like a bad cold, they may have picked up along the way.
