Getting the Message Across (The Bongs Play)
Before we consider constructing our message, it’s worth looking at research around communication and how we as humans communicate best.
This is important. Let’s assume we have carefully crafted a message about who we are, what we do, and our desired direction of career travel.
We may have labored long and hard to create this.
But if we don’t communicate the message in the right way, all our efforts will be wasted. Our approach should not just be about message transmission but also successful message reception.
And the latter has a lot to do with how humans process sensory information. This includes the sounds we make, in addition to things such as how we look and other, nonverbal cues.
