NFS for UNIX-Style File Sharing
If your network consists largely or entirely of UNIX-like OSs, chances are you'll want to use NFS for file sharing. NFS was designed for UNIX systems and therefore includes support for UNIX filesystem features, such as ownership and UNIX-style permissions. This fact makes NFS more suitable for UNIX-to-UNIX file sharing than SMB/CIFS. NFS client software is available for BeOS, as well, but currently no BeOS NFS server is available.
