Ego definition: The part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity.

Ego as a Game-Changer or Show-Stopper

“Ego” is a neutral term. It refers to a mental and emotional state of being. Our egos can propel us forward or bring us to a shattering stop. There is nothing wrong with what people call a “strong ego.” In fact, most excellent leaders with whom we have worked have strong egos. That doesn’t mean that they are arrogant or bullying or imperious. It does mean that they have a strong sense of self and, to use the standard test, are comfortable in their own skin.
